Martine has been out on site for long standing clients Faulkner Browns. With a working relationship which began in 1991 when she photographed Sheffield’s Ponds Forge Swimming Centre, designed for the World Student Games, Martine has continued to shoot for the Newcastle on Tyne based practice ever since.

With a recent completion in Coventry – The Wave, Martine and Paul have been on site to capture the high-octane leisure pool now that it is back in use post-Covid restrictions. This is the first of two separate visits, as the project is complex – featuring a wide range of traditional sporting facilities as well as the vast, flume filled drum where families can ride rapids, flumes, waves and a lazy river.

As well as The Wave, Faulkner Browns are mid-way through constructing Moorways Centre in Derby. This is a more ‘grown up’ leisure complex with a 50M competition pool sitting at the heart of the scheme. Other spaces include a 25M training pool, family pool, soft play centre, gym & multi- purpose studios. The site is due to begin operation in spring 2022 and Martine will be back again to complete her documentation of the spaces once they’re in use.
