Martine and Paul travelled to Peterborough this month for CPMG Architects to shoot British Sugar’s new HQ. There’s always a risk post GDPR that non-professional models will decline to appear in images, but the staff here could not have been more welcoming on the shooting days. It makes such a difference to the outcome if images are animated and architecture can be shown in use, indeed Martine has always felt that its this aspect of her image-making which is one of the most sought after aspects of her skill – the fact that she strives to narrate the purpose of any given building through the depiction of its’ occupants going about their respective roles.
This project was a perfect example of framework commissioning; multiple parties with a vested interest in the design, construction and fit-out shared Martine’s time and output, which made the financial contribution for each team modest, but with a high-quality yield. We now look forward to seeing how the project fares in the various design awards which it undoubtedly and deservedly will be entered for.
