About Built Vision...

Martine Hamilton Knight

Builtvision is a specialist source of British architectural images showcasing the work of Nottingham based photographer Martine Hamilton Knight.

Work is undertaken using high quality digital camera equipment with perspective control lenses and images are supplied as large format files on Cd-Rom or DVD.

Specialising in Architectural photography since 1990, Martine travels across the country for her clients who include architects, construction companies, interior designers, advertising agencies and magazines. All aspects of architecture and all types of buildings and settings are covered including offices, hotels, restaurants, schools, shopping centres, historical buildings, sporting facilities and residential projects.

Her work has been widely published over the last two decades, and her images are iconic, yet display intimacy and empathy for the subject. Martine was asked to be in the BBC4 series ‘A digital Picture of Britain’ in 2007, liking the camera she was filmed with so much, she bought one! More recently, she was a national RIBA judge in 2009 for two regions and declared it to be the most interesting experience of her career to date.

Builtvision is associated with Nottingham Vision, which produces images featuring and showcasing this midlands city. The Builtvision library holds some 20,000 large format transparencies which are available as high-res scans produced in-house, and in addition, the digital file library is rapidly expanding and images from this may be uploaded via ftp or burned to disc for use by third parties. Licences are issued according to use, and Builtvision is a member of BAPLA (The British association of Picture Libraries & Agencies www.bapla.org), trading by their guidelines.
